Venue and Timing
The 1000m challenge will start of the 200m mark of the track and consist of 2 and half laps of the 400m track. Each athlete will be recorded by photo finish and the times published on the internet. The races will form a pre-program from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. 5:15pm - 5:45pm
3:30pm Check in opens. Athletes must check in at least 1 hr before the start time of thier event.
5:00pm All athletes are to report to the 'call room' located at the 200m start (and 1km start). You must be on time to recieve hip numbers. You can continue to warm up after you have collected your hip numbers but must stay inside the field.
5:15pm Race 1
5:20pm Race 2
5:25pm Race 3
5:30pm Race 4 (or division 1)
Once your race finishes you will recieve you equipment via baskets that will be carried from the start line to the post event control area at the finish. You official time and lap times will be available on the Hunter Track Classic website via the live results link on the home page.
Divisions
Athletes can enter into 1 of several divisions depending on ability.
Division 1 - Estimated finish time under 3:00 minutes. Races in division 1 will be graded, spikes may be worn and athletes will start in lanes and cut in once they enter the home straight.
Division 2 - Estimated finish time between 3:00 and 4:00 minutes. Spikes may be worn. The start will be a pack start.
Division 3 - Estimated finish time greater than 4:00 minutes. Flat running shoes only. The start will be a pack start.
